Animal: Cacomistle

Species: The scientific name fort he Cacomistle is Bassariscus astutus.

Lifespan: Cacomistles live 8-12 years.

Size & Weight: Cacomistles are 25-32in long, including their tails, and weigh 2-3lbs!

Habitat: Cacomistles live in rocky areas and evergreen woodlands where they inhabit the upper canopy of the trees. If an area gets too wet they will go somewhere drier.

Diet: The cacomistle eats fruits, berries, insects, lizards, and birds.

Family Life: Cacomistles are mostly solitary creatures. They meet up to mate and the female cares for the young. SOmetimes the female will allow the male to come around his offspring to play with them.
