Pictures of Northern Crescents
Everything : Animals : Insects : Butterflies : Northern Crescents

Web www.northrup.org
Orange and black spotted butterflies, these are almost identical to the more common Pearl Crescents. The Northern Crescents (Phycoiodes selenis) have less black on the tops of the lower wings than the Pearl Crescents (Phyciodes thares) do. The Northern Crescents are found in the Northern United States and Southern Canada. These photos were taken at my home in Phillipston, Massachusetts.
