Quetzals are found in forest and woodlands and are a part of the trogon family. They are solitary birds and are sexually dimorphic, which means that male and female Quetzals look different (the females have brown feathers). They mostly eat fruit, berries, small vertebrates such as lizards, and insects. Some traits of Quetzals include:

  • Iridescent green back, wings, chest and head
  • A read belly
  • Long tail plume
