Pictures of Roseate Spoonbills (ajaia ajaja). Also known as "flame bird", they get their bright pink plumage from a diet rich in shrimp.

This wetland species nests colonially in low trees and bushes. They feed by swishing their bill from side to side through water; the very sensitive edge of the bill helps to locate water beetles, mollusks, crustaceans, and plants. They live in the South-eastern US and throughout Mexico and South America.
